The Convention on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions was adopted by UNESCO on October 20th, 2005, and implemented on March 18th, 2007. It is the first international instrument which formally recognizes States the right to adopt and implement specific policies to protect and promote their own cultural expressions.

It shall enable all people access a large and diversified offer of cultural works, from their own country and any other part of the world.
