Beyond this election, the Coalition has strongly reaffirmed its commitment to four major priorities:
- Ensuring that the UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions is fully respected in international trade negotiations and adapted to the challenges of the digital age;
- Defending and promoting European digital regulation that is conducive to creation and cultural diversity;
- Promoting the strengthening of policies to support, promote and increase the discoverability of European works, particularly online;
- Pursuing a strong ambition for a European cultural policy that is equal to the challenges of today.
Pascal Rogard, President of the French Coalition for Cultural Diversity: ‘Twenty years after the adoption of the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity, nothing can be taken for granted. The intolerable threats from the United States against European regulations in favour of creation and culture are a reminder of how much our models are under attack, as illustrated by the recent announcement of a 100% tax on films produced outside the US. In the face of these dangers, the Coalition will remain fully mobilised to represent the voice of all professionals in France and Europe.”
